Seppeltsfield Road is one of the most beautiful and historic parts of the Barossa Valley. Along the palm lined road, visitors can experience wonderful scenery, prestigious cellar doors and exciting food experiences.
The cottage is located at the western end of Seppeltsfield Road and all the following destinations are within a 10 minute drive. Seppeltsfield Winery is within walking distance across the road.
Seppeltsfield Winery offers three tours at various times of the day, all of which are highly recommended. Our guests receive a complimentary 45 minute heritage tour of the winery. The two hour Legend of Seppelt tour is sensational and includes a taste of the 100 year old Para Liqueur Vintage Tawny.

Continue past Seppeltsfield winery to the Seppelt Family Mausoleum. Here you can climb the stairs and have wonderful views over the western Barossa Valley.
Only a few hundred metres from the mausoleum is Barossa Valley Estate. A beautiful contemporary cellar door with wonderful Barossa produce platters on offer, a great open fire in winter and lots of glass windows.
Keep heading east until you come to Gnadenfrei St Michael's Lutheran Church. Visitors are welcome to all services and community events. See their onsite noticeboard for further details.
At the church turn left into Gnadenfrei Estate where Malcolm and Joylene Seppelt will keep you entertained at their cellar door. If you want to know the history of the Seppelt family, Malcolm is the man to ask! Joylene is the face behind the Barossa Picnic Baskets range and her panforte is to die for!
As you drive into the village of Marananga you will go past the Marananga Tennis Club. Their courts would have to have one of the best views of any tennis club in Australia! Our guests have access to the courts and we can provide tennis racquets and balls for you. Next to the courts is the Marananga Brass Band Hall. This band has existed for over 150 years. Visitors are always welcome to thier practice nights held at 8.00pm every Tuesday.
You will see the sign to Two Hands Wines cellar door on the right. Here you can compare Barossa Shiraz with Shiraz they make from other regions such as Heathcote, McLaren Vale, Langhorne Creek and Clare. A tasting with a difference.
Continue along Seppeltsfield Road to the Stonewell intersection. On the right is Appellation restaurant. Voted Gourmet Traveller Best Regional Restaurant for 2008 & 2009 and Best South Australian Wine List 2009. Open each evening for dinner. Also lunch on Sundays. Complimentary transfers from your cottage.
Turn left at Stonewell Road and follow the signs to Torbreck Vintners. Stunning wines and stunning cellar door.
Continuing along Seppeltsfield Road look out for Whistler Wines on your right. The Pfeiffer family know how to entertain and they make great wines too! The cellar door is contemporary Australian and is in the most delightful garden and bush setting. This is the place to spend some time and soak up the joy of being on holiday. They have fabulous events throught the year.
Balloon Adventures offer the best views of the Barossa! The dawn flights are followed by a champagne breakfast.
Maggie Beer's Farmshop is where you need to be for a great coffee and to taste her magnificent array of Barossa inspired foods. Verjuice cooking classes are held at 2.00pm, 7 days a week. Put together a delectable picnic lunch to eat on the verandah by the lake, or find a quiet spot in the Valley overlooking some vines.

The Barossa Brewing Company in nearby Greenock is the perfect place for a cleansing ale! Combining a dedication to the ancient German Purity Law of 1516 and the Barossa’s 150 year long tradition of quality, The Barossa Brewing Company produces small batches of pure, traditionally brewed beers, hand-crafted from the best ingredients. Open Saturdays and Sundays 11am to 4pm.
The Barossa Farmer's Market is held every Saturday from 7.30am to 11.30am in Vintners Sheds. Real food from the homes and farms of the Barossa. Fresh, seasonal and full of flavour. Wake up with an espresso or let the freindly locals at the Breakfast Bar cook you breakfast - real eggs and real bacon!
Take a walk through nearby Kaiser Stuhl Conservation Park, only a 20 minute drive from the cottage. The Stringybark Loop walk is an easy 90 minute walk and encapsulates everything that is wonderful about the Australian bush - kangaroos, kookaburras, native grasses and flowering vegetation. You will see kangaroos and joeys in their natural habitat resting from the sun during the day and grazing in the cool of the early morning and evening.
Visit Luhr's Cottage at Light Pass. Built in 1846, this cottage is now a museum and can be visited 7 days a week. Furnished with authentic items it is as though time has stood still as you duck your head to enter the front door. The original schoolhouse out the back has the children's school books complete with German handwriting!
Venture to Angaston to visit Taste Eden Valley and discover a range of rare and unique wines from the boutique producers of the Eden Valley wine region, renowned internationally for its premium Rieslings and cool-climate reds.

The Barossa Valley Cheese Company is located in Angaston in the Barossa. The Cheesery is open 7 days per week selling the full range of Cheese, condiments and complimentary artisanal products. Cheese platters are available for purchase at the shop and are matched with wines crafted by Victoria to specifically compliment her unique cheese range.
In February 2008, world renowned Italian photographer Stefano Scata stayed in Seppeltsfield Vineyard Cottage for two nights.
