MAKE YOUR OWN BLEND – BAROSSA TAWNY
Want to know how a Barossa Tawny’s made? What do you look for in a young wine, a middle-aged wine and an old wine? What if you blend barrels, what does young wine bring to the blend, and old wine? Barossa Tawny is a unique wine, a wine that takes premium selections of very ripe Grenache, Shiraz and Mataro grapes, fortified with Spirit and then rested for 5, 10, even 50 years and longer in barrel. The end result is a wine of genuine character; as individual as the red wines that have made the Barossa region famous.
This experience at Hayes gives you the chance to sample barrels from 1 to 50 years of age and make your own blend to take home with you. After the tasting head to the cellar door, relax and sample the finished wines that complete the Hayes Family Wines range.
Allow 60 minutes for this experience.
Bookings essential, direct with Hayes. Available Thursday and Friday all year round.
