Fantastic news – Travel restrictions have been eased, regional travel within South Australia is now permitted and the Barossa is welcoming you.
This means South Australian regions can safely welcome visitors again and we couldn’t be happier to invite you back to the Barossa Valley!
It has been a long tough few months for us all hasn’t it. However you have been coping during these strange and uncertain times I hope you have made it through safe and healthy, and perhaps found some enlightenment along the way. I read a great quote saying “we are not all in the same boat, but we are on different boats on the same ocean…” This rang very true and as we navigate forward we will all have our own thoughts on how we should move forward. We are so fortunate to live in this amazing state where we have so many interesting places to visit and now we can start to think about venturing out again.
For South Australian’s, it’s time to start dreaming and planning holidays again, and discovering what is right in our own wonderful state.
Although things are not quite back to normal, and we may not see that for a little while yet, we are so pleased to be able to re-open our cottage to South Australian guests. Luxury, heritage, Barossa accommodation set in our beautiful Seize the Day vineyard. Our beautiful region, the Barossa Valley is ready to welcome visitors back with open arms and grateful hearts.
If you have been cooped up inside for too long then this is the spot you can safely come and find some space, fresh air and peaceful respite from the craziness of the last few months. Our self contained accommodation exclusively for two, is the perfect getaway to ease yourselves out of the house .. set in a secluded location you have everything you need to escape for a few days of pure luxury and restfulness in your home away from home. From fresh local supplies for breakfast and platters, crisp luxury linens and plump doona on your giant king bed, heated floors and deep rainwater tub in the bathroom (perfect for a soak overlooking the vines) to the toasty open fire and your own private wine cellar to venture down and peruse.
If you are still wishing to keep your social distancing practices in place, you won’t need to see anyone else during your stay.
Bring your own supplies and cook a BBQ on the verandah, enjoy some Autumn sunshine on the back lawn, or stay right in side curled up by the fire with a good book, glass of red, hot drink or a movie. If you do want to venture out, while many of our local attractions and restaurants are also navigating their way back and adhering to safe social distancing practices, there are still so many options for you.
First stop, grab a coffee from one of our many local cafe’s offering pick up, tap and go caffeine hits. Head to the local Farmers Market (Barossa Farmers Market or Mt Pleasant Farmers Market) and stock up on some fresh produce to take home. Hire a bike from Barossa Bike Hire (delivered and waiting at the cottage) and explore our bike trails including the brand new loop out of Angaston. Play a round of golf at Tanunda Pines Golf Club, Visit the local Kaiser Stuhl Conservation park, take a walk, spend some time with the local wildlife and have a picnic lunch. Drive through rolling green hills and pass vineyards filled with fiery red and orange autumn vines, then stop at Menglers Hill lookout for the best views of the Valley. Indulge in some retail therapy at The Barossa Co-op, Wohlers Furniture & Homewares or other local boutiques. Venture back via your favourite cellar door (they are doing drive-thru or take away options), stop in at Seppeltsfield Road Distillers and grab a bottle of your favourite gin, then order some take away for dinner from some of our best restaurants to take back and enjoy in the privacy of your cosy cottage.
