Seppeltsfield Road continues to surprise not only visitors to the Barossa, but also those of us who are lucky enough to live here. We hadn’t for a moment envisaged that we would have a Gin Distillery in our Barossa neighborhood – but now we have! What’s more, it’s not just “any” Gin Distillery. The young couple behind the dream have hit the ground running and have quickly made a name for themselves, not only for their gin, but for their hospitality and incredible community spirit.

About Nicole and Jon

There are times in our lives when we come across special people who just seem to be amazing on every front. Jon and Nicole are such a couple. I first met Jon as a 16 year old school boy, he was a school friend of my son Tom at Trinity College, Gawler. Jon was singing “New York, New York” at a school function and I remember thinking “That kid’s got guts!” Nicole is a Barossa girl and they make a formidable team. They both have musical backgrounds plus Jon an earlier career in corporate finance and Nicole in the South Australian Police Force. Nicole also plays the French Horn in the South Australian Symphony Orchestra. So, that would automatically transition to building and owning a Gin Distillery in the Barossa – wouldn’t it?!

Who is Christine?

Nicole is the talented distiller and the still is named Christine after Nicole’s grandmother. Gin flights are available from $15, where you have the choice of participating with a host at the bar (they have wonderful staff guided by the lovely Tasting Room Manager, Bec Henderson), or you can self-guide at your own pace on the deck. Gin & tonics and gin cocktails are also available on the menu, as are grazing platters with favourite local and international smallgoods.

What’s on Offer and When?

Three gins are offered – House Gin, Barossa Dry, and Savoury Allsorts – spirit is produced locally and complemented by the best quality botanicals. The gin is then distilled onsite with a focus on developing exceptional texture and flavour. They have also just announced a limited release Shiraz Gin – we recommend you get in fast to snap some of that up!

Seppeltsfield Rd Distillers is open 11 am – 5 pm Thursday, Sunday and Monday, and 11 am – 6 pm Friday and Saturday.
