Last week the Barossa Stage 1 of the 2014 Santos Tour Down Under was a resounding success, with the riders passing by close to our vineyard & cottage 3 times during the race in spectacular weather. Our Seize the Day Cabernet and Shiraz vines can be seen in the background of this photo as the peloton made its way from the township of Greenock along Seppeltsfield Road up the hill toward Seppeltsfield Winery.

After a week of fires at Eden Valley in the Eastern Barossa and 5 consecutive days of temperatures in the mid forties (celsius), it was wonderful to have perfect weather for the Barossa stage of the race.

Another local highlight of last week was the annual Shakespeare in the Vines event performed by Melbourne Essential Theatre. This year’s performance was a hilarious modern day take on A Midsummer Night’s Dream which had the audience captivated, including the many children who attended and who were in awe of the live performance. This unique, live, outdoor event is held on the Australia Day long weekend each year at the sensational Seppeltsfield Winery. If you would like to know about this event and many more along Seppeltsfield Road in the Barossa, you can subscribe to the Seppeltsfield Road enews so you are the first to hear and don’t miss out!
